Happy Skyscraper was born in New York City in 2012. It was first photographed next to the famous Chrysler Building and next to Central Park and the heart of Manhattan. However, earlier it was invented in Europe, in Poland. The idea of a small box with a smile and windows traveling around the world was born in the head of Szczepan Sadurski. He is a satirist and event caricaturist living in Poland. He is called one of the fastest caricaturists in the world, because it takes him only a minute to make one caricature, a maximum of 100 seconds.
Sadurski is also the president of an international organization called Good Humor Party. He created it in 2001 in Poland to make people smile more often. The organization quickly gained worldwide reach. Not only because the membership fee is just … 3 smiles a day! The Happy Skyscraper is a symbol of the organization. Anyone willing can photograph him anywhere in the world and become a member of the of Good Humor Party.

Trier, Germany
Porta Nigra (translated from Latin: Black Gate) is a city gate in Trier, dating back to the times of the ancient Roman Empire. It was built in the year 200 (over 1800 years ago) in the city of Augusta Trevorum and was part of the city’s fortifications. It is the oldest Roman defensive structure in Germany. In 1986 it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Happy Skyscraper was photographed in front of this unusual building.
With a population of over 100,000, the city of Trier is located in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, on the Moselle River. It is probably the oldest city in Germany. From 273 it was the seat of the Catholic bishops. Karl Marx was born here in 1818.
Thonon-les-Bains, France
The town of Thonon-les-Bains is located in France, close to the Swiss border. More precisely: on Lake Geneva, at the foot of the Savoy Alps, in the Haute-Savoie department. The Happy Skyscraper was photographed on Thonon Square, from which you can see Lake Geneva, behind which is already Switzerland.
Hobart, Australia
The capital and largest city of the Australian island of Tasmania has over 200,000 inhabitants. Wesoły Skyscraper was photographed, among others, at a plaque commemorating a Pole, Józef Potaski.
Potaski was born around 1764. It is believed that he came from the aristocratic Potocki family. He took part in the Kosciuszko Uprising in Poland, then left for London. For petty theft in a shop in Newhaven, the court sentenced him to several years of exile in a penal colony. In 1803, together with his wife and son, he sailed HMS Calcutta to Port Phillip Bay in Australia, and then to Hobart. Exactly 200 years after Potaski’s arrival in Australia, an opera concert was held in Hobart on this occasion.
