If you have lost a receipt from a recent purchase at Home Depot, don’t despair! You can request a duplicate copy from the store. You might need a copy of your receipt for work, a gift, or personal records. Simply ask a store associate to reprint your receipt at the time of purchase. Be aware that this option is only available within 30 days of your purchase.
If you haven’t received your receipt, you can try downloading it online from Home Depot’s website. The website has options to filter your receipt by item number, store, or PO number. Look for order numbers that start with “H” in the beginning, as these are for purchases made at the Pro Desk. Those with “C” or “W” are for online purchases. Any receipt without these words indicates that you did not purchase at a Pro Desk.
After you have received your lost Home Depot receipt, you should contact the store to request a new one. If you don’t have a receipt, you can also request a refund to your credit or debit card. Home Depot usually keeps transaction data for three to six months. If you lose your receipt, they should make sure to tell you in advance. Once you have your receipt, you can get the money back to your debit card, cash, or store credit.
When you return an item to Home Depot, you’ll need to present a valid photo identification for verification. If you purchased a gift card, the gift certificate is also valid. Home Depot also requires government-issued photo identification for purchases made with Store Credit. If you’ve lost your receipt, you can call the Special Services Desk to inquire about a refund. There are some exceptions to this policy, but you should be able to get a refund with a valid receipt.
