The Sandman

Five Days at Memorial

Five Days at Memorial is a miniseries that is based on Sheri Fink’s book of the same name. It is a medical drama series that is based on the real events of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The series was developed by John Ridley and Carlton Cuse. The main cast includes Vera Farminga, Cherry Jones, Cornelius Smith Jr., Robert Pine, Adepero Oduye, Julie Ann Emery, Michael Gaston, and Molly Hager.

The show, just like the book, is a recollection of the horrific aftermath of Hurricane Katrina inside a New Orleans hospital. It is already an understood fact that the conditions and experience were horrific, and yet, this show unveils more horrors as to what happened in those five days. It is a heart-wrenching story of the decisions that were made by caregivers in those times.

The show has received an 8.3/10 on IMDb and an 84% on Rotten Tomatoes. So far, only 3 episodes have been released and it is said that there will be 5 episodes in total.
